Starlight Princess RTP: 96.50% or 95.51%? Reading the official numbers in pesos
Published — UTC

Short answer: Pragmatic Play publishes two different RTP figures for the original Starlight Princess. Its corporate game page lists 96.50%, while its Pragmatic Play Fun game page lists 95.51%. The official demo server we queried on 15 October 2026 reported 96.50% for normal spins, the Ante Bet and the Buy Free Spins feature. Treat 96.50% as the figure for the configuration that demo serves, and treat 95.51% as a second published figure that may belong to a different configuration. The only number that applies to your session is the one printed in the game’s own information screen at the casino you open. In peso terms, the 0.99-point gap is small per spin but measurable: across ₱10,000 of total bets, the theoretical average loss is ₱350 at 96.50% and ₱449 at 95.51%.
This guide is not a recommendation to play. It takes the numbers the provider itself publishes, shows where each one comes from, and converts them into peso examples that are easier to check. Facts from Pragmatic Play are linked where they appear. Figures we calculated are marked as our calculation, and the demo session is labelled as a sample. All sources were checked on 15 October 2026.
What the provider actually publishes

Four official sources describe this game: Pragmatic Play’s corporate game page, its fan site Pragmatic Play Fun, which lists game attributes, the provider’s official demo server (game code vs20starlight), whose start-up data includes a gameInfo block and a paytable, and the provider’s Gates of Olympus 1000 page, which we use only for one comparison further down.
| Item | Value | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Format | 6×5 grid, pays anywhere (8+ matching symbols), tumbles | Pragmatic Play Fun |
| RTP | 96.50% (corporate page) / 95.51% (Fun page) | Both official pages |
| RTP in demo | Regular 96.50%, Ante 96.50%, Buy 96.50% | Demo gameInfo |
| Maximum win | 5,000× the bet (4,000× with Ante Bet) | Fun page, demo gameInfo |
| Bet range | 0.20 – 240 (currency units) | Fun page |
| Multiplier values | 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 15, 20, 25, 50, 100, 250, 500 (15 values) | Demo gameInfo |
| Free spins | 4+ scatters award 15 free spins | Fun page, demo data |
| Buy Free Spins | 100× the bet | Fun page, demo data |
| Volatility | Medium | Fun page |
| Release date shown | 23-09-2021 | Fun page |
Two items are missing from these sources: a base-game hit frequency and a free-spins trigger rate. Pragmatic Play Fun lists a hit frequency for many titles, but not for this one. We have not filled the gap with a figure from a review site. The demo sample below shows what one session looked like, and it is labelled as a sample, not as a published rate.
Two RTP figures: how to read the conflict
Both pages belong to the provider, so neither can be dismissed as a third-party error. They differ by 0.99 percentage points. Many slot providers supply the same title in more than one RTP configuration and let each licensed operator choose one. We have not confirmed that this is the explanation for Starlight Princess, so we treat it as a likely reading rather than a verified fact. What we can verify is narrower: the demo build we queried reports 96.50% for all three ways of playing.
RTP is a long-run average across a very large number of rounds. It does not predict a session. It does, however, set the expected cost of play. Our calculation for ₱20 spins:
| Total bets | At 96.50% | At 95.51% | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| 100 spins × ₱20 = ₱2,000 | ₱70.00 | ₱89.80 | ₱19.80 |
| 500 spins × ₱20 = ₱10,000 | ₱350.00 | ₱449.00 | ₱99.00 |
| 2,500 spins × ₱20 = ₱50,000 | ₱1,750.00 | ₱2,245.00 | ₱495.00 |
The figures are averages. A single session of 500 spins can finish far above or far below either one, and that swing is much larger than the ₱99 difference between the two RTP figures. The difference still matters to anyone who plays the same game often, because the expected cost grows in step with the total amount bet, not with the time spent.
How to check the version you are offered
- Open the game, then its information (i) or paytable screen, and find the line stating the theoretical return. Pragmatic Play titles normally print it in the rules pages.
- Check whether the Ante Bet and the Buy Free Spins option show separate return figures. In the demo they are all 96.50%. A casino build could differ.
- Record the figure with the date. If the screen shows no RTP, treat the version as unverified rather than assuming the higher number.
Paytable in bet multiples — why many wins are smaller than the bet
The demo paytable is stored in coins for 20 lines. Dividing by 20 gives multiples of the total bet. The data does not name the symbols, so the table below uses value tiers. The peso column is our calculation for a ₱20 bet.
| Tier | 8–9 symbols | 10–11 | 12+ | 8–9 at ₱20 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 (highest) | 10× | 25× | 50× | ₱200 |
| 2 | 2.5× | 10× | 25× | ₱50 |
| 3 | 2× | 5× | 15× | ₱40 |
| 4 | 1.5× | 2× | 12× | ₱30 |
| 5 | 1× | 1.5× | 10× | ₱20 |
| 6 | 0.8× | 1.2× | 8× | ₱16 |
| 7 | 0.5× | 1× | 5× | ₱10 |
| 8 | 0.4× | 0.9× | 4× | ₱8 |
| 9 (lowest) | 0.25× | 0.75× | 2× | ₱5 |
| Scatter | 4 = 3× · 5 = 5× · 6+ = 100×, and 4+ also start free spins | ₱60 (4) | ||
Four of the nine tiers pay less than the bet at the minimum count of eight or nine symbols. A ₱20 spin that lands eight of the lowest symbol shows a win of ₱5 and is still ₱15 down. Tumbles and multipliers can lift a small first hit, but without them a “win” on this game is often a partial refund.
There is a second thing the data shows. This paytable, the scatter pays, the 20/25-line Ante setting and the 100× buy price are identical, value for value, to the demo data we read the same day for Gates of Olympus 1000. What differs is the multiplier ladder (up to 500× here, up to 1,000× there), the maximum win (5,000× against 15,000×) and the stated volatility (medium against high). Two games can look different and still pay the same base symbols. The difference sits in how often and how high the multipliers land, and those weights are not published for either game.
How the multipliers combine
According to the provider’s description, multiplier symbols can land in both the base game and free spins, each taking a value from 2× to 500×. In the base game, the values of all multiplier symbols in one tumble sequence are added together and applied to that sequence’s total win. In free spins, a multiplier that lands on a winning tumble is added to a running total multiplier, which then boosts wins for the rest of the feature.
Worked example (illustration only): on a ₱20 base-game spin, a tumble sequence pays 2× (₱40) and two multipliers of 5× and 10× land. They are added to 15×, so the sequence pays 2 × 15 = 30× the bet, or ₱600. They are not multiplied together, which would give 50×. In free spins, if the running total is already 10× and a winning tumble brings a 3×, the total becomes 13× and the following wins in the feature use 13×.
The demo data lists the fifteen possible values but not how often each appears. The 500× value is the ceiling, not a typical result. In our sample the multipliers that appeared were concentrated at the low end of the list.
Buy Free Spins and Ante Bet in pesos
Buying the feature costs 100× the bet, so ₱2,000 on a ₱20 bet. The demo reports 96.50% for the buy, the same as normal spins. The Ante Bet raises the stake to 1.25× (the demo uses 25 lines instead of 20), so a ₱20 bet becomes ₱25. Our calculation of theoretical average loss at the demo’s 96.50%:
| Way to play (₱20 base) | Total bet | Average loss |
|---|---|---|
| 100 normal spins | ₱2,000 | ₱70.00 |
| 1 Buy Free Spins | ₱2,000 | ₱70.00 |
| 100 Ante spins (₱25 each) | ₱2,500 | ₱87.50 |

The average cost of a buy and of 100 spins is the same at 96.50%. The experience is not. One buy commits ₱2,000 at once, and the result of fifteen free spins can be a fraction of the price or many times it. The Ante Bet costs more per spin and, according to the demo data, cuts the maximum win from 5,000× to 4,000×. Measured in pesos, 4,000 × ₱25 = ₱100,000, exactly the same as 5,000 × ₱20. The cap does not change in money terms. It only looks lower because it is quoted against a larger bet (our calculation). The sources we read do not state how much the Ante Bet changes the chance of triggering free spins, so we leave that unverified.
Maximum win and the max_rnd_hr field
5,000× is the ceiling for one round: ₱100,000 on a ₱20 bet. The demo’s gameInfo also carries a field named max_rnd_hr with the value 697,350. It is commonly read as “one round in 697,350 reaches the maximum”, but the provider does not document the field publicly, so we mark that reading as unverified. Even if the reading is right, at 500 spins an hour it would correspond to about 1,395 hours of play on average. The cap describes what the game allows. It does not describe what to expect.
jiliko demo sample — two sessions, 1,622 spins
To see how the published numbers behave in practice, jiliko ran two sessions on the provider’s official demo server (game code vs20starlight) on 15 October 2026, using demo credit only: coin 0.10 × 20 lines = 2.00 demo USD per spin, no Ante Bet and no buy. Session A stopped after 599 paid spins when the demo server ended the connection; session B ran 1,023 paid spins. Each session was reconciled against the server’s own balance (session B: 100,000.00 − 2,046.00 staked + wins = 100,888.70 final balance).
| Measure | Session A | Session B |
|---|---|---|
| Paid spins | 599 | 1,023 |
| Spins with any win | 157 (26.21%) | 321 (31.38%) |
| Wins smaller than the bet | 84 | 163 |
| Free-spins features | 0 | 8 (results from 9.65× to 172.2×) |
| Biggest single round | 45.5× | 172.2× |
| Longest run without a win | 20 spins | 15 spins |
| Multiplier symbols seen | 22 (highest 25×) | 158 (highest 50×) |
| Session return | 54.6% | 143.44% |
The two sessions are the most useful part of this sample, because they disagree so sharply. Session A returned 54.6% of what was bet and never reached the free spins. Session B triggered the feature 8 times, far more often than session A, and returned 143.44%. Neither number says anything about the true RTP. Both show how widely a medium-volatility game can swing over a few hundred to a thousand spins. Across both sessions, about half of all winning spins (247 of 478) paid less than the bet, as the paytable predicts. Of the 180 multiplier symbols that appeared, none was 100× or higher. These sessions are a sample, not a measurement of RTP, hit frequency or the free-spins rate.
Verified, calculated and unverified
Verified from provider sources: 6×5 pay-anywhere tumble format, RTP 96.50% on the corporate page and 95.51% on the Fun page, 96.50% for regular, Ante and Buy in the demo, maximum win 5,000× (4,000× with Ante), bet range 0.20–240, fifteen multiplier values from 2× to 500×, the multiplier rules, 15 free spins for 4+ scatters, the 100× buy, medium volatility, the paytable values in the demo data, and the identical paytable in the Gates of Olympus 1000 demo data.
Our calculations: the peso cost of each RTP figure, the paytable in bet multiples and pesos, buy/spin/Ante average losses, the equal peso value of the 4,000× and 5,000× caps, and the multiplier example.
Demo sample (one session): two official-demo sessions of 599 and 1,023 paid spins at 2.00 demo USD, with win rate, sub-bet wins, feature count, largest round, losing streaks, multipliers seen and session return.
Unverified: which casinos use which RTP configuration, a published hit frequency or free-spins rate, the weighting of each multiplier value, the Ante Bet’s effect on the free-spins chance, the meaning of max_rnd_hr, symbol names for each paytable tier, and peso bet limits at any operator.
Before you play
Every spin is random, and nothing in this guide predicts the next one. Do not raise your bet to chase a multiplier or the feature, keep any buy within money you can afford to lose, and decide your budget and stopping time before you start.
